    Q: Individual Progression of Skill
Sally was in the same tap class as Suzie last year, however Suzie moved up but Sally didnt. Why?

A: Not all children improve at the same speed, usually your child will be better at one subject more than another, encourage your child to keep working hard but be realistic with them.

Q: Why is my child not moving up?

Q: Not Improving, what's could be wrong?
My child has been dancing for four years and doesnt seem to be improving. Is there something wrong?

A: Is your child attending dance class becuase he/she wants to take dance, or because you want them to take dance. Also, how many classes per week does your child take? A student who takes once per week will maintain their ability but not show a very dramatic improvement. The student who attends twice per week is going to improve faster, likewise a student taking seven – ten classes per week is going to move along very fast. (Obviously a beginner cannot take many classes as they are not available)

    Q: Paying for the Recital
How come I must pay for my child to be in the Recital?

A: The community center charges a large amount of money to hold a performance in the facility. We could invite parents in to the classroom to watch the class, but the benefit of a child performing on stage is imeasurable.

    Q: Proper Ballet Atire
Why does my child need to wear leotard, tights and hair in a bun for ballet.

A: Ballet is a very disciplined subject, when a child puts on ballet attire, they become a ballet dancer inside and out, it helps your child focus.

Q: Street Clothes vs. Dance Clothes
Why does my child need to change into a dance outfit, his/her regular clothes look similar to tap/jazz clothes.

A: When a student puts on their dance outfit, it helps them shift from daily life into dance time. Dance is very physical but also very mental, you need to remove yourself from the normal world and become part of the dance world.
